The UNITE Conference-at-a-Glance (CAG) page is the web-based replacement for several paper documents UNITE has used in the past for its in-person conferences:
To access the CAG, open the URL https://agenda.unite.org/ in a web browser.
This help page describes how to use the on-line CAG and maximize its value to you during a conference. The CAG is designed to be used with PC, laptop, tablet, and smart-phone devices. When using it from a phone or small tablet, you may find that rotating the screen for landscape or horizontal viewing gives better results.
Opening the CAG in your browser displays a table of sessions for the conference – the Session List. The sessions displayed are sorted by day, starting time, and session location.
You can control the set of sessions displayed by the CAG in three ways, as detailed in the section "Selecting Sessions to View" below:
All times shown on the CAG are in the local time zone of your device. That time zone is shown as an offset in hours from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), also known as Universal Time (UT/UTC). For example, if you are in the U.S. Eastern Standard Time zone (EST), the offset will be shown as "GMT-5," i.e., Greenwich Mean Time minus five hours.
The Session List displays the conference sessions in chronological order. A dark-gray header separates the sessions for each day.
Clicking a header will alternately hide and show the sessions below it. As the conference progresses from day to day, the system will automatically hide the sessions for days that are in the past. You can view the sessions for those past days simply by clicking their respective headers.
Whenever you load the CAG page into your browser, reload the page (F5 or Ctrl-R in most browsers), or click the Refresh button in the upper-right of the page, the headers will reset to hide the sessions for days in the past.
The Session List has the following columns:

The status of links in the Room/Link/Channel column and of evaluations in the Eval column changes with time. The page will automatically refresh the entries in these columns periodically to update their status. You may update these links yourself at any time by clicking the Refresh button at the top of the page.
Note that for public sessions you will see links in the Room/Link/Channel column unconditionally, but for non-public sessions you will see links only if you have authenticated your registration. You will see links and status in the Eval column only if you have authenticated your registration.
Immediately above the Session List is a shaded area with a pull-down list labeled View and a legend showing mnemonics and flags for the Interest Groups associated with conference sessions.
The View list controls which set of sections the CAG displays – all sessions for the conference, only those sessions for selected Interest Groups, or only those sessions selected for your Personal Schedule.
When the View list is set to All Sessions, the CAG displays all sessions for the conference regardless of their Interest Groups or selection for your Personal Schedule.
When the View list is set to Interest Groups, the CAG displays only those sessions that are associated with the set of Interest Groups selected in the legend. The Interest Groups are identified in the legend by two- or three-letter mnemonics. Hovering your cursor over an Interest Group mnemonic will pop up a tool tip showing its full description.
When the view is set to Interest Groups, the CAG will display only those sessions that are associated with at least one primary or secondary Interest Group for which the corresponding check box on the legend is ticked. Ticking multiple boxes on the legend will show the union of the sessions to which the selected Interest Groups have been assigned. Sessions associated with the "Obligatory" Interest Group are always shown.
On the left side of the legend is an additional check box labeled All. Ticking this box will alternately select all or none of the Interest Groups.
Note that the check boxes in the Interest Group legend are disabled when the View list is set to other than Interest Groups. Your browser will preserve the state of the check boxes, however, and reapply them when you switch back to the Interest Group view.
Your browser will also preserve the state of the Interest Group check boxes whenever you navigate away from the CAG page or close the browser. The next time you load the CAG page, your former Interest Group selections will be restored. The storage of your selections is private to the browser. Thus each device/browser combination that you use for the CAG will preserve a separate set of selections.
When the View list is set to Personal Schedule, the CAG displays only those sessions that have their PS check box ticked. The check box for sessions associated with the "Obligatory" Interest Group is always ticked and cannot be unticked.
If you untick the PS check box for a session while in the Personal Schedule view, that session will be hidden on the Session List. You will need to switch to one of the other views in order to reinstate the session as part of your Personal Schedule.
As with Interest Group selections, your browser will preserve the state of the PS check boxes whenever you navigate away from the CAG page or close the browser. The next time you load the CAG page, your Personal Schedule selections will be restored. Each device/browser combination that you use for the CAG will maintain a separate set of PS selections.
Each time the page is loaded, the session list is refreshed, or you alter any of the PS check boxes, the page will examine your Personal Schedule for conflicts. A conflict exists when the start/end time for one session in your Personal Schedule overlaps the start/end time of one or more other sessions in your Personal Schedule.
When conflicts exist, the PS check boxes for all conflicting sessions are highlighted with a red outline. The PS check box in the page heading will also be highlighted.
Note that schedule conflicts are detected whether a conflicting session is currently visible or not. When filtering sessions by Interest Groups, it is possible that some sessions on your Personal Schedule may not be visible. When examining your schedule for conflicts, it is usually best to set the View list to All Sessions.
In an on-line conference, some sessions may be publicly available, but most will be restricted to delegates who have registered for the conference. You must authenticate your registration before you may view non-public sessions or submit evaluations for any session. If you use multiple devices to access the CAG page, or multiple browsers on the same device, you will need to authenticate each device/browser combination individually.
When you open the CAG page before authenticating your device, you will see a Sign In button below the UNITE logo. Clicking that button will open a dialog on your screen where you must supply some information to confirm your registration:
This information will be in the confirmation email that was sent to you shortly before the conference from "UNITE Conference" (conf.plan@unite.org) with subject "IMPORTANT – Your UNITE [year] Conference Credentials."
After you successfully authenticate your registration, the site will inform you that it has sent an authentication cookie to your browser and the Sign In button will be replaced by a green oval showing your name.
If you do not have access to the information required to authenticate your registration, or you otherwise have difficulty with the authentication process, please contact UNITE support (support@unite.org) or call +1-804-545-1795 for assistance.
The site will require you to authenticate only once per device during the conference. Note, however, that your authentication status is maintained by a browser cookie on your device. You must enable cookies from the site in order to authenticate successfully. Most modern browsers can be configured to accept cookies from specific sites. If necessary, change your browser settings to accept cookies from the "agenda.unite.org" domain. Deleting cookies from your browser will remove your authentication status.
Note that cookies are unique to individual devices and the browsers running in those devices. If you authenticate multiple devices or browsers to access the CAG, unique cookies will be generated for each device/browser combination. This is not an issue when simply viewing information on the CAG page or accessing on-line sessions, but it may be an issue when entering session evaluations. See the Entering Session Evaluations section for more information.
Immediately above the Session List is a set of links to pages with supplemental conference information. Clicking one of these links opens the page in a new window or tab of your browser.
UNITE strongly encourages you to submit an evaluation for every session you attend. Your ratings and comments help speakers understand how well they reached their audience and how their presentation could be improved. The UNITE conference planning committee uses this information to judge how well the conference met the needs of its delegates and how UNITE can make improvements for future conferences.
Sessions are open for submitting evaluations from shortly after the session starts until 48 hours after the conference ends. A link will automatically appear in the Eval column of the Session List when a session is open for evaluations. You must authenticate your registration before you can submit an evaluation for a session – links will not appear on devices that have not been authenticated.
To submit a session evaluation, click the corresponding link in the Eval column. That will open a form where you enter your evaluation responses. The link will automatically deactivate when the time for submitting evaluations for a session expires.
UNITE asks that you enter responses to at least the first four questions on the form, which only require selecting from a multiple-choice answer:
Note that you are welcome to recommend more than one session for a Best Presentation award. The Board and conference planning committee take into account a number of factors in making these awards, but delegate recommendations weigh heavily in their decision.
The next two text areas are optional, but UNITE and the session speakers will welcome any comments and recommendations for the session and any suggestions for future sessions you may wish to provide:
By default, the data you submit in an evaluation is anonymous. It will be seen by the session speaker, the session moderator, and the UNITE Board and conference planning committee. You may, if you wish, enter your name and/or contact information in the two text boxes provided for that purpose at the bottom of the form.
After you have supplied your responses, click the OK button at the bottom of the form. You may need to scroll the form up to bring the button into view. After your responses are stored, the dialog will close and the page will briefly display a message with a confirmation "ticket number" of six alphanumeric characters. This ticket number will also appear in the Eval column for the session to indicate you have completed an evaluation for that session.
After submitting an evaluation, and up to that session's closing time for evaluations, you may reopen your evaluation and modify it by clicking the ticket number link. The evaluation form will open again, allowing you to update any of your previous responses.
As mentioned earlier, authenticating multiple devices (or multiple browsers on the same device) results in a unique cookie being generated for each device/browser combination. For simply viewing the CAG page or accessing on-line sessions, this is not a problem.
For submitting evaluations, however, using multiple devices or browsers may result in a fragmented view of the status of your evaluations. The system uses the random value stored in the cookie to associate your evaluations with the device that submitted them. This is what allows the CAG page to indicate on the Session List which evaluations you have submitted.
If you use multiple devices or browsers to submit evaluations, the Session List shows only those evaluations submitted from that device/browser. Thus, you will not have a complete view of all of your evaluations from any one device.
Therefore, UNITE recommends that, regardless of how many device/browser combinations you use to access and view the CAG page or to view on-line sessions, you always use the same device and browser when submitting your evaluations. That way, the Session List on that device will always show you an accurate, up-to-date status of your evaluations.
